Technology in the Group

PSA Peugeot Citroën, European leader in on-board telematics systems, is developing and rolling out new services to make driving easier

Emergency call system
This tertiary safety system organises and speeds up the arrival of rescue teams in the event of an accident. PSA Peugeot Citroën is the only manufacturer with an emergency call system operating in seven European countries (soon to be increased to nine with Portugal and Austria). More than 350,000 vehicles are already fitted with this system.

Assistance
In 2003, Peugeot and Citroën set up a range of assistance services based on the shared RT3/NaviDrive telematics platform. This system groups a range of functions - radio CD, GSM telephone and hands-free kit and GPS navigation aid - in a single module. More than 4,500 calls have been logged, with the geolocation system significantly cutting the time taken for assistance to arrive (repairs, towing, etc.).

Infotrafic
Run by ViaMichelin, this traffic information system is included free of charge in the RT3/NaviDrive platform on Peugeot and Citroën vehicles in France. In 2006, the UK gained the Trafficmaster traffic information system alongside this free service. This system is compatible with RDS-TMC traffic information services in other European countries.

Mobility
"Peugeot Services Mobiles", the mobility assistance service launched by Peugeot, gives access to a range of services through an operator available on a 24/7 basis:
- search and download points of interest taken from a database whose content includes the Michelin Guides and Green Guides;
- set up traffic warnings on pre-set routes, downloading of routes optimised for traffic conditions;
- manage a personal address book;
- locate automatic speed cameras in France, etc.

Fleet management
Based on the existing RT3/RT4 and NaviDrive architecture, PSA Peugeot Citroën is to present a new function integrated with the Interparc management software. Fleet managers will now be able to automatically upload information on mileage, maintenance alerts, servicing etc. in order to optimise the technical and cost management of Peugeot and Citroën vehicles in their fleet.
