Urban Mobility : The Group's City on the Move commitment

With an increasing share of the world's population living in increasingly large cities, mobility has become a right for all people, and one to which PSA Peugeot Citroën is firmly committed. The City on the Move Institute (IVM), launched by the Group in 2000, is part of this commitment and one of PSA's sustainable development objectives.

Mobility is a social issue. Millions of people get from A to B in Peugeot and Citroën cars and so it is PSA Peugeot Citroën's responsibility to build clean and safe cars. But the Group also has to factor in the car's environment, and urban areas in particular.

All transport modes, individual and collective, have to adapt to demographic change and urban sprawl. PSA Peugeot Citroën is playing an active role in discussions on these phenomena.

The City on the Move Institute (IVM), founded by the Group in 2000, associates representatives from industry and researchers and brings together academics with specialists in social, cultural and institutional fields, as well as urban specialists, to work on research, initiatives and joint projects. IVM covers all transport means, including walking, bicycles, buses, trams, underground systems, and, naturally, automobiles.
IVM has also set up centres in China and Latin America that organise forums and debates.
