Sustainable development: in pursuit of continuous progress
Cars contribute to freedom and are an essential part of economic development. But they are also a source of risk, primarily in terms of the environment and road safety, particularly in emerging countries. In consequence, for a vehicle manufacturer, implementing a sustainable development approach means identifying and controlling the impact of its cars on the environment and on society, at every stage in their life cycle. The Group is committed to achieving this.
To address these issues, PSA Peugeot Citroën has implemented a sustainable development approach aimed at controlling the impact of vehicles on the environment and society. This policy covers the entire vehicle life cycle. To this end, the Group has drafted a commitment plan with precise targets.
We measure our corporate, social and environmental performance using operating indicators as part of an annual reporting process that is checked by an independent third party. The results are presented in the report on “sustainable development performance indicators” and on the dedicated website.
PSA's commitment to sustainable development is reflected in dialogue and close relations with all stakeholders, including employees, suppliers and customers. Group performance has been distinguished by the inclusion of PSA in socially responsible investment indices such as FTSE4Good (EIRIS agency) and ASPI Eurozone (VIGEO agency).
Examples of our sustainable development achievements :
