PSA Peugeot Citroën is recognised as the leading French manufacturer in the field of virtual reality, with the most advanced digital simulation tools in the automotive industry, including CaveTM, the Holobench and scale-one screens. As a partner of CLARTE, the Group is organising an open day at its ADN design centre to coincide with the presentation. The event will further understanding on economic and technological issues in French automotive production and increase knowledge on immersive environment applications.

Set to arrive on the French market in April, the 207 boasts some convincing selling points in terms of safety. The new model recently scored five stars in EuroNCAP adult occupant protection tests. It also notched up four stars in the child protection tests, taking 37 points out of a possible 49.

Jean-Martin Folz, CEO of PSA Peugeot Citroën, and Alain Klein, director of the hybrid vehicles project, presented the HDI hybrid technology to more than 100 journalists at an event also attended by the Minister for Ecology and Sustainable Development. Some 80 European journalists then had a chance to test drive the hybrid HDI demonstrators, a 307 and C4, during three days at Mortefontaine.

12/16/2004 - Diesel Engine Production: New Step in the Cooperation with Ford Motor Company
Ford Motor Company and PSA Peugeot Citroën are planning to expand production capacity for the 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 litre high technology diesel engines from the ongoing cooperative agreement between the two companies. This cooperative agreement is enabling both companies to be world leaders in diesel engineering and manufacture.

BMW Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën have unveiled the state-of-the-art technologies deployed in their new gasoline engines, the first to be jointly developed and produced by their cooperative venture. Announced in July 2002, the two Companies’ cooperation in gasoline engines is now setting new standards for performance, driving comfort and reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
11/26/2004 - The Citroën C5 and C4 win 5 stars in Euro NCAP tests
The Citroën C5 and C4 have passed Euro NCAP impact tests with flying colours. The two cars scored 36 and 35 points respectively, out of a possible 37. The Citroën C5 achieved the highest-ever score, making it the safest car on the market in any segment.

In a market largely dominated by German manufacturers, PSA Peugeot Citroën received a number of prizes from Auto-Revue, Austria’s leading auto magazine and member of its largest media group, News Gruppe. The prize-giving ceremony took place on 30 September 2004 in Vienna.

PSA Peugeot Citroën today presented its emergency call system, a new tertiary safety solution that helps to organize and speed the arrival of medical assistance to the scene of an accident. Since its introduction, more than 30,000 Peugeot and Citroën vehicles equipped with the system have been sold.
02/27/2004 - The five millionth engine confirms the ongoing success of the HDi
In February, the Group produced its five millionth HDi (high-pressure direct injection) diesel engine for Peugeot and Citroën built-up vehicles. Volume production began in September 1998 at Trémery in eastern France.
10/17/2003 - New ET3 engine produced by Française de Mécanique, France
At the Frankfurt Motor Show, PSA Peugeot Citroën offered a world preview of the new ET3 engine assembled by Française de Mécanique (Douvrin, France). The ET3, a 4-cylinder 1,360 cm3 powerplant in the family of TU engines, is already complies with the new Euro 4 pollution control standard that comes into force in Europe in 2005.

The Peugeot 807 and the Citroën C8 have just achieved five stars in EuroNCAP*’s crash tests. This is the first time that high range MPVs reached such a score. This result illustrates the high level of safety achieved by the two vehicles and the degree of consideration afforded from the outset to the issue of protecting the occupants. Known as MOVETM, the facility, the first of its kind ever built in France for industrial applications, offers the potential for devising new ways to shorten vehicle development cycles and control costs, while fostering greater creativity. The facility features a unique architecture that can be reconfigured into multiple layout arrangements to create the illusion of total immersion in a virtual environment.
