Statement concerning the Aulnay’ site

A press conference took place today, held by the Federation of metallurgy of the CGT, challenging the Managing Board of the Group over its strategic plans on Aulnay’ industrial site.

PSA Peugeot Citroën firmly states that the closure of the Aulnay’ site is not currently on the Group’s agenda. The plant produces the new Citroën C3, launched in October 2009 and best-seller of the Citroën range with around 310,000 vehicles sold in 2010.

The document released today by the CGT was a preliminary working document drafted nearly a year ago, elaborating some long-term outlooks on the Group’s European competitiveness. This document does not in any way constitute a decision taken by the Managing Board. In the context of the crisis in the automotive industry as it was the case in the summer 2010, the Managing Board considers that analysing this kind of issues is part of its responsibility.

PSA Peugeot Citroën is strongly concerned about the competitiveness of its French industrial sites and is actively involved in the public debate. There are regular exchanges on this subject with social partners within the company. During the last Central Works Council (“Comité Central d’Entreprise” in French) which took place on last May 26th, all these issues were addressed and the CGT did not ask any question. In the framework of these exchanges, the Management has convened an extraordinary meeting of the CCE that will take place in the next few days in order to clarify this matter.

As a reminder, PSA Peugeot Citroen produces 85% of its engines in France and almost two times more vehicles than it sells.
