PSA Peugeot Citroën Presents its “Mobility for Everyone” Solutions at the Planète Durable Exhibition

At the Planète Durable Show, to be held at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre from 31 March to 3 April 2011, PSA Peugeot Citroën is presenting its sustainable development commitments and its solutions designed to provide mobility for everyone.

The Group, which has made responsible development one of the fundamentals of its strategy, is today offering its customers a wide range of mobility products and services that are tailored to differing needs and uses and which address environmental issues and recent societal developments.

Because every customer is different, the Group is developing complementary solutions for an array of needs and types of use that respond to customer expectations in terms of features and cost.

For urban use, the preferred solutions are the power-assisted bicycle, the E-Vivacity electric scooter and electric cars like the Peugeot iOn and Citroën C-ZERO, introduced in European markets in late 2010.

For trips requiring extended operating range, hybrid vehicles allow motorists to choose between electric mode when driving in cities, for example, and traditional internal combustion mode when traveling longer distances. This technology will be available on the Peugeot 3008 and Citroën DS5 beginning in 2011.

Lastly, improvements are still being made in internal combustion engines thanks in particular to e-HDi micro-hybrid technology, which was deployed on the Citroën C3, C4 Picasso and DS3 in 2010 and will gradually be installed on all Peugeot and Citroën ranges beginning in 2011.

The PSA Peugeot Citroën stand illustrates the Group's "mobility for everyone" offering through the following four solutions:

  • Micro-hybrid technology, with the Citroën C3 e-HDi.
  • Diesel hybrid technology, with the Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4.
  • Electric mobility, with the Citroën C-ZERO, the E-VIVACITY electric scooter (scheduled for market launch in spring 2011) and the power-assisted bicycle.
  • New card-based mobility services, with Mu by Peugeot and Citroën Multicity.

The Planète Durable Exhibition also provides the Group with an opportunity to raise awareness of the City on the Move Institute (IVM). Founded in June 2000, the IVM supports the emergence of innovative urban mobility solutions
Lastly, visitors will be able to test-drive both brands’ electric vehicles on an outdoor track.
