PSA Peugeot Citroën Launches “Production Manager Diversity” Programme
PSA Peugeot Citroën participates in the Jobs and Diversity Forum organised today by IMS Entreprendre pour la Cité. As part of PSA Peugeot Citroën’s commitment to diversity, the initiative is designed to align the plants’ management structure with that of the production teams.
Production managers are responsible for a section of the production line that employs 25 to 40 people.
They ensure that day-to-day output complies with quantity and quality specifications, by supervising the proper application of Group’s professional standards and safety guidelines They also manage their team and foster social cohesion in their section. In this way, production managers play a pivotal role in a plant’s organization.
Following a 10-month qualifying training programme that includes an introduction to the automobile industry and an orientation programme to learn about the job and the Group, candidates will be assigned to a production manager position. The training programme will be developed and conducted jointly with AFORP, a training organisation that is part of the French metal industry association UIMM.
The programme will initially be deployed at the Poissy plant in the Yvelines, where some 15 candidates will be selected.
In commenting on the launch of the “Production Manager Diversity” programme, Dennis Martin, head of the Industrial Operations Department, said: “This programme is rooted in our commitment to responsible growth and our tradition of fostering greater diversity. Naturally, we believe that the programme will also strengthen our business performance. But a company’s role isn’t just about business. We’re convinced that the Group has to fulfil its duty to people and society. That’s the commitment we’re demonstrating today.”
