PSA Peugeot Citroën’s Equal Opportunity Employer Label Renewed

PSA Peugeot Citroën’s Equal Opportunity Employer Label has been renewed by French quality standards agency AFNOR Certification. In January 2005, the Group was the first large corporation in France to receive the Label from the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Equality.

Gender equality in the workplace is a core component of the Group’s employee-relations strategy, in line with its commitment to responsible growth.

The Label’s renewal recognises PSA Peugeot Citroën’s commitment to promoting equal opportunity through a variety of programs underway at every Group facility.

The Label not only attests to the progress made and the results achieved since the first agreement was signed in November 2003, it also offers strong encouragement to continue these efforts and to deploy new equal opportunity action plans.

Demonstrating the Group’s commitment to maintaining this improvement dynamic, the Label comes on the heels of the new three-year equal opportunity agreement signed in February 2011 by all of the unions, which takes into account six key objectives:

  • Strengthen the policy of hiring a greater percentage of women to improve the company’s gender balance
  • Guarantee equal pay for equal work, with the same career opportunities for women as for men
  • Encourage identical career paths and gender balance in professions and job families
  • Support the increasing percentage of women in the Group’s workforce by improving working conditions, quality of worklife and work-life balance
  • Support a favourable environment for working parents across the enterprise
  • Enhance sensitivity and build awareness of gender equality issues among all employees

This improvement dynamic is based on the social dialogue process being conducted with the unions, supported by the recommendations issued by AFNOR Certification.

By earning renewal of its Equal Opportunity Label and signing a new equal opportunity agreement, PSA Peugeot Citroën intends to continue setting the standard in this area and deploying an innovative strategy to increase the number of women employees and develop equal opportunity in the workplace.
