PSA Peugeot Citroën’s Diversity Label Renewed

PSA Peugeot Citroën, one of the first companies to receive the Diversity Label created by the French government in 2009, saw its certification renewed in 2010.

The label, which recognizes the good human resources practices implemented by the Group to promote diversity and equal opportunity and prevent discrimination, was first awarded on 10 April 2009.
Following an audit, the label was renewed in 2010.

It is awarded after a highly demanding certification process led by AFNOR Certification, the national certification agency.

PSA Peugeot Citroën has consistently demonstrated its commitment to diversity over the years, as can be seen in the following milestone achievements:

  • 2003: Agreement on gender equality in the workplace, renewed in 2007.
  • 2004: Agreement on diversity and social cohesion, renewed in 2008.
  • 2005: Gender equality label, renewed in 2008.
  • 2006: Global framework agreement on social responsibility, renewed in May 2010.
  • January 2010: Agreement on retaining and motivating seniors.
  • July 2010: Deployment of the new Code of Ethics.

Policies to promote diversity and fight discrimination are regularly tracked and assessed for every category, including visible minorities. In 2008, PSA Peugeot Citroën distributed a voluntary questionnaire at its Sochaux, Vélizy and Poissy facilities with the goal of identifying its employees’ geographic region of origin to fight discrimination more effectively. New surveys will be conducted in Aulnay and Caen in 2011.

Commenting on the label renewal, Claude Brunet, Vice President Human Resources and Quality, declared: “PSA Peugeot Citroën's business performance benefits from team diversity. It is crucial for us to incorporate a wide variety of backgrounds that reflect the communities in which we work. Diversity is a source of synergy, social harmony and economic efficiency. Having a wide range of skills and capabilities promotes a healthy exchange of ideas, opens new viewpoints and enhances performance by stimulating creativity.
