PSA Peugeot Citroën Creates its Corporate Foundation, “A World on the Move”
At the Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Philippe Varin, Chairman of the Managing Board, announced the creation of the PSA Peugeot Citroën corporate foundation, “A World on the Move.”
The Foundation will support social, educational, cultural and environmental projects that are related to mobility, an area in which the Group has been a widely recognised player for more than a century.
As reflected in its baseline – “A World on the Move” – the Foundation will provide financing to projects supported by non-profit and charitable organisations or by local philanthropy programmes set up by PSA Peugeot Citroën production facilities.
Operating worldwide, the Foundation will rely in particular on the Group’s sites to tailor its initiatives to local features and needs. This is expected to create the opportunity for individuals – and especially PSA Peugeot Citroën employees – to develop their projects on a solid local base.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors, chaired by Philippe Varin, is comprised of nine members. Marie-Hélène Roncoroni, Member of the PSA Peugeot Citroën Supervisory Board, will serve as Vice Chairman. Hugues Dufour, appointed Delegate General, will manage the Foundation’s activities, as from 1 September 2011.
“The creation of the Foundation is fully in line with our goal of responsible development,” Philippe Varin told shareholders at the Annual Meeting. “It will pursue initiatives around the world, with a focus on regions in which the Group has operations.”
