PSA Peugeot Citroën reported record sales in Argentina over the first five months of 2013. A total of 62,240 vehicles were sold in the country, for a year-on-year increase of 28.6%.

In a fast-growing market that gained 8.8% over the period, Peugeot sales rose by 24.7% and Citroën sales by 38.7%. The Group's market share now stands at 15.2%, of which 10.6% for Peugeot and 4.6% for Citroën.

PSA Peugeot Citroën is currently Argentina's second largest carmaker in terms of sales and the only one in the top three to enjoy growth over the first five months of the year.

This dynamic gained further momentum in May, with in particular an excellent performance by the Citroën brand, whose sales surged more than 80%, lifted by the new C3 and the Berlingo light commercial vehicle.

The Group is therefore capturing all of the growth in the Argentine auto market, while further demonstrating its vitality at the Buenos Aires International Motor Show, which opened to the media on 19 June.

  • Peugeot is premiering the 208 in Argentina at the show, ahead of the model's second-half market launch. Its XY and GTi versions will also be presented. The 508 RXH, the Peugeot 4008 crossover and the brand's scooter line-up, will also be unveiled for the first time.
  • The Citroën brand is presenting the C4 Lounge, a mid-size sedan to be produced in the plant of El Palomar, near Buenos Aires, Argentina. It will also show the C4 Aircross SUV, as well as the DS5 Hybrid4, the DS3 Cabrio and the Revolt concept car.

PSA Peugeot Citroën is pursuing its globalisation strategy, with the successful renewal of its line-ups in Latin America, and is on track to achieve its target of generating 50% of sales outside Europe in 2015.
