French car manufacturer

With 200 years of industrial history and 3 world famous brands, PSA Peugeot Citroën produced 2,894,400 vehicles in 2014, up 2.85% compared to 2013. Europe is the main production region of the Group - 66,6% - followed by China and Southeast Asia.

Controlled growth

In 2015, PSA Peugeot Citroën sold 2,973,000 vehicles in the world, up 1.2%. Sales growth in Europe, Middle East & Africa and India-Pacific. On the Chinese Market, sales are virtually stable at 736,000 units.

A "made in France" guarantee for fifteen vehicles

Nine Peugeot vehicles (208 XY, 208 GTi, 2008, new 308, new 308 SW, 508, 3008, 5008 and Metropolis), three Citroën vehicles (C3, C4 and C5) and three DS (DS3, DS4, DS5 ) have received the “Origine France Garantie” from the association Pro France, guaranteeing them as built in France.

For products to obtain this label, final assembly must take place in France, and 50% of their value must be produced in France. The label gives consumers a guarantee that they are buying a product of French origin.
Following a certification process conducted by Bureau Veritas, the label was awarded to fifteen models. The percentage of value produced in France is around 68% on average for these models, and even 75% for the new Peugeot 308. The new 308 models to be marketed in Europe will be built at the PSA plant in Sochaux.

The fifteen vehicles carrying this label are built in the Group’s French plants:

  • Rennes (Brittany) for the Peugeot 508 and Citroën C5
  • Poissy (outside Paris) for the Citroën DS3, C3 and the Peugeot 208 XY and 208 GTi
  • Mulhouse (Alsace) for the Citroën DS4, C4 and Peugeot 2008
  • Sochaux (eastern France) for the Peugeot 308, 3008 et 5008 and Citroën DS5
  • Mandeure (eastern France) for the Peugeot Metropolis

This label underlines the importance of the industrial roots of PSA Peugeot Citroën. Building automobiles in France is key to its identity.

In 2013, the French automobile Group is one of France’s main exporters, showcasing French expertise and innovative capacities beyond national borders.

Key figures for PSA Peugeot Citroën in France:

  • 83,930 employees.
  • Leading patent filer for the sixth consecutive year, across all sectors of industry.
  • More than 14,500 researchers and engineers across four R&D centres.
  • 6 vehicle production plants and 11 powertrain and casting plants.
  • 85% of Group engines and gearboxes are made in France

The French automobile Group plans to take this approach further by requesting the label for several other vehicles scheduled for launch at a later date and that will also be built in France.
