At PSA Peugeot Citroën, mobility intuitively consists of automotive design, technological innovations and a future-looking approach. But for mobility to be sustainable, it also has to be community-minded.
Because mobility first and foremost means everyone being able to get from A to B, the PSA Peugeot Citroën Foundation is committed to making mobility an individual right and keeping the world “on the move”.
The Foundation was created in mid-2011 to make a more active contribution to the development of solidarity in the essential field of mobility. Moreover, the Foundation’s actions consolidate the presence of the Group in local communities and strengthen our employees’ attachment to their company.
The Foundation has provided financial or material support to nearly 170 projects from NGOs and national and international public authorities in the last two years. The highly diverse and informative initiatives have shown us how important mobility is to the entire population and how often exclusion – whether related to employment, education, leisure or culture – is a result of physical and psychological barriers.
For Philippe Varin, “Economic performance and solidarity, corporations and the greater good are not mutually exclusive. By strengthening one, we offer opportunities to the other. In these particularly difficult times, it seems all the more urgent to take strictly concrete action to support the development of local projects that can help everyone. The Foundation is one of the cornerstones of our corporate social responsibility policy, which provides support for numerous, often innovative, initiatives in the field”.
Finally, the Foundation gives meaning to the Group’s values of respect, responsibility and commitment. More and more Group employees are showing how they share this point of view by taking part in voluntary or mentorship actions in the Foundation’s wake.
